Hi, Ladies!
Do you believe in Angels?
I wanted to share a couple of stories that happened to our family this Christmas!
Actually, I call them "The Christmas Angels"!
My first story begins about mid-December! This year for Christmas my sweet hubby bought
me a new anniversary ring! (After 30, almost 31 years, my original wedding ring set
is in pretty sad shape!) Anyways, on December 23rd, I stopped in Fred Meyers
to do a little shopping for Christmas and decided to see if my new ring was
in! It was sent off to be resized! It just so happened that it had just arrived! The clerk
handed me my new ring! I took the little pink sapphire ring that my hubby had bought me
for our 25th wedding anniversary and slid it on to my pinky finger of my right hand! Big mistake
because it was way too big for my pinky finger! I had intentions of putting the ring in a safe place once I left the counter! It wasn't until my drive home that I discovered that I didn't have my little pink sapphire ring! Over Christmas weekend I was telling my sister about losing my ring and she said, to call the store that maybe someone had turned the ring in! She reminded me that there are "honest" people in this world! Me, thinking that no one would have turned my ring in, waited four days to call the store! Low and behold, once I described the ring, the lady in customer service said, "I have your ring, someone turned it in"! I wanted to cry!
My other "Christmas Angel" story took place on Christmas Eve Day! My step mom had ran to Walmart for a few last minute things! She said that she had been standing in this really long line! She was in the middle of getting her items checked out when she heard someone say, "Ma'am"! She said that she looked back towards the long line and that no one was talking to her! When all of a sudden, she heard someone say, "Ma'am" again, only this time she looked towards the front of the store and there stood a man in his late thirties, with a red envelope! He handed her the envelope, said "Merry Christmas" and quietly walked away! She said she looked down at the envelope and it said, "Pay it Forward"! She opened the envelope and inside was a Christmas card with $100.00 cash! She asked the clerk if she had seen the man that had just handed her that envelope and the clerk said that she hadn't see any man standing there! My step mom finished paying and walked through the store trying to find the man so that she could thank him for his great generosity! She never could find the man! She went home and told my Father and he told her, "I think you have an Angel"! My step mom and Father are both retired and living on a fixed income and with my Father's terminal cancer there have been a lot of extra expenses, so this money couldn't have come at a better time!
Have you heard the story of Ben Breedlove? Ben was an 18 year old Texas teenager
who battled a life long heart condition called, "hypertrophic cardiomyopathy"! You can click HERE to read his story and HERE to watch Part 1 & 2 of his silent flash card videos! I will warn you, grab your Kleenexes! Ben was taken home on Christmas Day, just a few days after he made these videos! Anyways, towards the end of his video he holds a flash card that says,
Do you believe in Angels or God? I Do.
So, my question to all of you is "Do you believe in Angels" or "God"? Do you have a special "Angel" story?
I Do!!!

What wonderful stories! Yes I believe that God not only uses us, but sends angels to us. This story gave me a smile and reminds me of that a loving Lord we serve.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful stories, Kim. I got goose bumps just reading them. Sorry to hear about your Father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I lost my Father to cancer 12 yrs. ago.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do Believe in Angels. I won't go into all the details but My husband was hit by a drunk-driver 15 yrs. ago. He lived for 2 yrs. with a severe Head/brain injury and left unable to walk. I took care of him for almost 2 yrs before he died from complications (13 yrs ago the day after Christmas.
Our children were young at the time 5 1/2 and 7
I was not working. I was going to go back to work after my youngest started kindergarten. That didn't happen of course. Anyways..."MY ANGELS" as I call them, seemed to know when we weren't home and would leave bags of groceries (canned goods, boxed items, laundry soap, toilet paper) etc. outside my door. Once a month their would be an envelope in my mailbox, nothing written on it no note and money in it each time (That went on for 6 months) Neighbors and friends would show up to clean my house and offer babysitting services. Local Police departments would drop off bags of christmas gifts, the school had a donation drive and dropped off money and gifts collected. Someone gave us a 1/4 of a beef cow. It was endless for about a yr. Then it started again after my husband passed away. So yes, I Do Beleve in Angels.
I certainly believe in Angels, and have been to that same bright light Cody saw. With the same peace.

Wonderful stories ... thank you so much for sharing them! We all need to be reminded from time to time that angels do really exist! Blessings, Shirlee
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Kim! Those are great 'Angel' stories. And at the end of your post I got goosebumps, good ones. :) That is (among other things) what happens to me when I feel the Spirit. And I didn't even check out the links yet. :) I will have to get a box of tissues first.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your father's cancer. I have had breast cancer so, in a way, I know what you are all going through. You all will be in my prayers.
I believe there are 'Angels Among Us.' WE can be each others angels as in your stories. We should try each day to do something nice for someone. :) Thank you for sharing. Take care, Janet W
I am still crying, and trying to type at the same time. I DO, I DO, I DO, BELIEVE in the Lord and we have Angels as well, sorry the tears are still rolling down my face. We have had a hard 2011 and with them finding a lump in my right breast and they caught it in time, I BELIEVE!!!

Yes, I believe in God, yes I believe in His angels. Yes, we have experienced that in our lives. Too many words, too long to post, but had it not been for their intervention. I don't believe I would be able to be here now.
ReplyDeletethese stories are so touching, and I am so happy you have your ring back, it was no mistake you now have it! I do believe there are angels among us! Thanks for sharing these stories...
ReplyDeleteThank you for those sweet stories. I appreciate the song too. It has long been one of my favorites. I am happy you got your ring back. God gives us angles to help us everyday. -Steph-
ReplyDeleteWonderfully touching stories Kim....and, yes, so much more than "stories" no? I truly do believe...but have to say, the story of the man with the envelope in Walmart brought goosebumps to me. What an amazing act of kindness and generosity. I'm still waiting for an angel to lead me back to the ring I lost this past summer....I believe if you stop hoping, there is no hope....Wishing you a wonderful new year ahead - filled with blessings and angels....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteYes I believe in Angels, thanks for sharing your heartwarming stories. There's a country music singer, Clay Walker, that had a song (you don't owe me a thing)about the same thing as "pay it forward". The song says that an older woman had a flat tire and this man stopped to change it for her..he would not take any money. So the woman stopped at a diner and the waitress was pregnant and very tired looking. When the woman started to leave she left a $100 bill. So when the waitress got home late that night and crawled into bed she wispered to her husband that everthing was going to be all right and her husband was the man that had changed the tire for the older woman. You can find the video on you tube.

Oh Kim, what a touching story with your step-mom and the pay it forward. So glad you got your ring back. Yes, I believe in angels as was one with me the day this Ram truck decided to pass and I was right beside him. He was on his cell phone. I got my car under control but he flipped his truck.

Yes Kim, I believe in angels and God. They were both with me in 2006 when I almost died from sepsis after a punctured intestine during a surgery. I came through after being in a coma for 2 days. They were definitely with me then.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you have your ring back, and that your step mother was given that amazing gift.
I absolutely do believe in angels and God. The Bible is filled with stories of them. Take the Christmas story. It was the angels who guided the wisemen and it was an angel who told Joseph that Mary was pregnant! And in the book of Hebrews it tells us that we "entertain angels unaware". They are messengers for God.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
~Rene~
What wonderful experiences, Kim! Yes, I definitely believe in angels, both heavenly and the humans that God works through. The stories of their good works help brighten this world and give us hope!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Pam
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your angel stories! And the song you have playing on your blog, I love also. I am a new follower, well actually, I think I already followed but I hit the follow button again. Prayers for your dad and step-mom, and wishing you and your family a happy new year.
