Hi, Ladies!
If you've followed my Blog for very long then
you know that there are two things that I ~Love~
Spray Paint & Shoe Polish!
I know that I've shared some these techniques with all of you
in the past! You can click HERE to view one of those postings!
In this posting, I wanted to share some
In this posting, I wanted to share some
new items that I've ~Grunged~!
I bought these lil' fake gourds at Walmart yesterday for .97 each!
The colors on them were bright so I wanted to tone them
down a bit by ~Grunging~ them with a little Brown Shoe Polish!
All's you have to do is rub some Brown Shoe Polish on them!
If they are not ~Grungy~ enough for you then go ahead and give them
another coat until you get the degree of ~Grunging~ that you like!
Here is a bucket that I wanted to fill with some pine
to put in our log cabin room!
This bucket started out silver, then I gave it a couple coats
of American Accents Soft Wheat Spray Paint!
Then I finished it off with a coat of Brown Shoe Polish!
I ~Love~ the way that this bucket turned out!
It looks like an old bucket now, instead of something that just came off the shelf!

I love what you did to that old bucket.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these ideas.
I am going to try this on some gourdes.
Have a nice weekend
I am going to have to try the shoe polish.. I have a bright orange pumpkin that needs toned down :) thanks for the hint!
ReplyDeleteI love how we can take simple inexpensive items and turn them into something wonderful, all by using spray paint and shoe polish! I purchased some of those same items from Walmart and plan on doing the same thing for myself.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a re-do of a cornucopia for a customer and I wanted so badly to do that to the pumpkins and gourds because I knew that it would have made a huge difference in the final product, BUT she didn't want me to. I should have just done it without mentioning beforehand.
TFS all the great tips with us! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful fall day.
Blessings,
Sheila
Very pretty, the show polish on the gourds makes them look completely different. I like the look.
ReplyDeleteOff to shoe polish my gourds!
Warm Regards,
Susan
Me and paint (of any kind) aren't really on a first name basis...but I learned of the shoe polish trick a bit ago and am having a blast with it!!! Great tips Kim! Happy First Day of Autumn! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteYou are my kind of girl. I think there is nothing that some shoe polish and spray paint can't fix. I love your grungy pumpkins from Walmart. Good job. Your bucket is pretty too. -Steph-
